HOW TO COOK CHICKEN

METHOD 1

How to cook chicken stew

Prep time- 10mins

Cook time – 40mins

Total time – 50mins

Serves 5

 

Ingredients

1 medium size ginger root

1 tablespoonful turmeric

1 green bell pepper

5 garlic cloves

1 cucumber

1 tablespoonful salt

1 medium size onion

5 tomatoes

A bunch of scallions

A bunch of coriander

5 carrots

60ml cooking oil

1 broiler chicken

 

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into your desired size of pieces
  2. Boil the chicken until it is tender.
  3. Heat cooking oil in a separate cooking pan for 1 minute.
  4. Add minced garlic and bulb onions and let them cook until they are golden brown.
  5. Add scallions and stir and let them cook for 1 minute.
  6. Add diced cucumber, sliced tomatoes, diced green bell pepper, and ground ginger and stir the mixture. Let them cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Add salt and stir.
  8. Cover the cooking pan to allow the stew to simmer for 5 minutes
  9. Add the chicken to the already simmering stew and stir to mix with all the ingredients in the cooking pan.
  10. Keep stirring for 3 minutes so that it does not stick to the cooking pan.
  11. Add 1 cup of water bit by bit while stirring to avoid making a light stew.
  12. Sprinkle the turmeric and stir.
  13. Add vinegar and stir then cover the cooking pan and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  14. Lower the heat and sprinkle coriander leaves on the stew. Cover the stew and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
  15. Serve while hot.

N.B.: It can be served with your favorite food.

 

METHOD 2

HOW TO COOK GRILLED CHICKEN

Prep time – 10mins

Cook time – 40mins

Total time – 50mins

Serves 3

 

Ingredients

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1 lemon

5 cloves garlic- minced

1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

1/2 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoonful granulated sugar

2 tablespoonful chili sauce

1 whole chicken

A bunch if coriander

1-inch ginger root

A bunch of scallions

1/2 cup yoghurt

5 tomatoes

 

Instructions

  1. Place vinegar, garlic, rosemary, tomatoes, sugar, scallion, ginger, yoghurt, coriander in a blender and blend them to form a mixture.
  2. Pour the mixture into a bowl and squeeze lemon juice into the mixture and stir.
  3. Season the mixture with salt and chili. Taste the marinade to see if it needs adjustments regarding flavoring.
  4. Set aside a small amount of the mixture.
  5. Debone the chicken and slice into your desired size. Add it to the mixture and let it stay there overnight.

Note: The chicken should be immersed in the mixture so as to absorb the flavor.

  1. Drain the chicken by using paper towels.
  2. Preheat the grill then put the chicken on it to let it cook. Keep turning the chicken while pouring the reserved marinade bit by bit on it.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Serve while hot.
